Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review (with Master Corrector and High Precision Retouch)

Ok so I got a little lazy getting my first proper blog out >.< hehe... but all good things come with time (I keep telling myself that :p )

So I purchased the Giorgio Armani  LS foundation around 2 months ago and am loving it so far! I originally tried a sample first given to me by a very nice lady at the GA counter in Selfridges. Having gone to try out the Master Corrector for my dark circles I ended up purchasing the High Precision Concealer also. I then tried out the generous foundation sample which lasted me about 2 weeks! (I have a small face ^-^) and decided I was definitely going to buy the full size when my then current foundation (Estee Lauder Double wear) ran out. However I couldn't wait and purchased it as soon as my shade became available in the full size!
Luminous Silk Foundation 5.25
I was matched to shade 5.25 which is such a great colour for me, I haven't tried any of the others but think I could probably get away 5.5 also. The range of shades is very good but if you cant find a match you can always try mixing two colours, it doesn't even have to be the same foundation. You can go for different effects aswell for eg. mixing this with EL Double Wear would make it more long wearing, great for a night out! The coverage is light to medium so for me it is an ideal every day foundation. I have a lot of acne scars but don't like to wear tons of foundation to cover it up (cake alert!) instead I prefer a light layer of the LS and conceal obvious imperfections then setting with a light powder to help it last longer. I can usually get through a full day of work and my foundation will still look good at the end of the day...although my combination skin means I'll occasionally get a shiny nose >.< this is easily solved with a touch of powder however. I love the feel of the foundation on my skin when you apply it, it does feel like applying silk almost! Its lightweight and looks very natural, also the fact that it is oil free means it doesn't break me out like other foundations can, any face product which is oil free is always a bonus :)

I also love the 'luminous look' it gives your skin, it makes my dull complexion look so much more alive and healthier. I think this will be one of those foundations that I am going to re-purchase unless I find something better. The price at £34.00 is quite steep but I think its worth it if you want something that's got that extra special feel.
Master Corrector 02 and High Precision Retouch 3.5
both £25.00
I am also currently loving both the Master Corrector in shade 02 and the High Precision Retouch in 3.5.
I get very dark circles under my eyes and so combining these two gives me the best results I have seen thus far! I used to use the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque with the Mac Select Moisture Cover Concealer, while this combination was 'ok' once I tried the GA I was instantly converted! Like the foundation they are very lightweight and feel great on you skin, they're also very easy to blend in. I usually set it with Benefit's Powderflage, though I have heard this has been discontinued?? :( but I guess you could always set it with a translucent powder. The HPR concealer contains 'light reflecting pearls' this helps reflect light under your eyes making your dark circles appear almost banished. Combined together all three products flow beautifully together giving you a seamless application.

I am very impressed with the GA products so far however the foundation itself has gotten mixed reviews. Some people love it and others seem to hate it. My sister actually purchased it after I raved about it to her but she ended up selling it because she hated it so much! The reason was she didn't think it had enough coverage for her. I can understand as when I have a breakout phase I sometimes wish it had more coverage, but when my skin clears up it looks great with LS!!! I guess the same foundations will not work for everybody however it's most definitely become a favourite for me :)
